Here are some examples of existing film magazines:
The common conventions of these magazines are:
- Large masthead, which is usually quite simple and bold to make it eye-catching.
- The main image is normally a large image of the main actor or protagonist of the film featuring in the magazine, the image generally is a portrait of the actors head and shoulders, with them looking straight to camera.
- There's a consistent colour scheme that compliments the main image and links to the film featured, it can be altered to fit with it.
- The headline is mainly centred in the middle of the page towards the bottom and is one of the largest fonts.
- The strapline is either above or below the headline, and gives a bit more information about the main article or film.
- The coverline explains a bit more about the film, and kind of expands on what the strapline says.
- The banner that is normally at the bottom of the page lists what else is featured in the magazine.

They are bold and simple to help make them stand out, and easily identified. Their names are quite short and catchy, and are related to the film industry to help show what the magazine is about.
